چکیده

We report high sensitivity sub-arcsecond angular resolution observations of the massive star forming region DR21(OH) at 3.6, 1.3, and 0.7 cm obtained with the Very Large Array. In addition, we conducted observations of CH3OH 44GHz masers. We detected more than 30 new maser components in the DR21(OH) region. Most of the masers appear to trace a sequence of bow-shocks in a bipolar outflow. The cm continuum observations reveal a cluster of radio sources; the strongest emission is found toward the molecular core MM1. The radio sources in MM1 are located about 5 north of the symmetry center of the CH3OH outflow, and therefore, they are unlikely to be associated with the outflow. Instead, the driving source of the outflow is likely located in the MM2 core. Although based on circumstantial evidence, the radio continuum from MM1 appears to trace freefree emission from shock-ionized gas in a jet. The orientation of the putative jet in MM1 is approximately parallel to the CH3OH outflow and almost perpendicular

Thermal methanol emission in the DR21 complex Interferometric maps: a comparison with maser emission

We present interferometric observations with∼3.5′′ resolution of the 2k → 1k methanol lines towards the methanol masers in the DR21/DR21(OH) complex. These transitions are not masing and hence our measurements can be used to place limits on the methanol mass associated with the maser spots. We do not find in general good correlation between the peaks of “non-maser” methanol emission and the pos...

Line Polarization of Molecular Lines at Radio Frequencies : The case of DR 21 ( OH )

We present polarization observations in DR21(OH) from thermal dust emission at 3 mm and from CO J=1 → 0 line emission. The observations were obtained using the Berkeley-Illinois-Maryland Association array. Lai et al. (2003) observed this region at 1.3 mm for the polarized continuum emission, and also measured the CO J = 2 → 1 polarization. Our continuum polarization results are consistent with ...

WFCAM , Spitzer - IRAC and SCUBA observations of the massive star forming region DR 21 / W 75 : I . The collimated molecular jets

We present wide-field near-infrared images of the DR21/W75 high-mass star forming region, obtained with the Wide Field Camera, WFCAM, on the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope. Broad-band JHK and narrow-band H 2 1-0S(1) images are compared to archival mid-IR images from the Spitzer Space Telescope, and 850µm dust-continuum maps obtained with the Submillimeter Common User Bolometer Array (SCUBA)....

High Angular Resolution Measurement of Ion and Neutral Spectra as a Probe of the Magnetic Field Structure in DR21(OH)

It has been suggested that under average interstellar field strengths the cyclotron interaction between ions and magnetic fields is strong enough to narrow the linewidth and suppress the line wings in the ion spectra. We present evidence for the cyclotron interaction effect at arcsec scale on the velocity dispersions in the spectra of ion/neutral molecular species in DR21(OH) observed with the ...

The cooling of atomic and molecular gas in DR 21

Aims. We present an overview of a high-mass star formation region through the major (sub-)mm, and far-infrared cooling lines to gain insight into the physical conditions and the energy budget of the molecular cloud. Methods. We used the KOSMA 3m telescope to map the core (10 ′ × 14 ′) of the Galactic star forming region DR 21/DR 21 (OH) in the Cygnus X region in the two fine structure lines of ...
